ENCAUSTIC   WORKSHOPS

Encaustic ,“to heat or burn in” is an ancient painting technique, dating back to the Greeks. Heat is used throughout the process to fuse layers of wax. Included in all workshops is information about the history of encaustic painting, use of materials-beeswax, grounds, supports, safety, application of paint-opaque & transparent, fusing methods, cleaning of equipment and care of paintings. All workshops are for some who have little familiarity with this fun medium and some who have experience, but seek to refine their skills. All are welcome!!
