Week 1  June 21- 25

Painting with Acrylic 

This class is designed to introduce the basic elements of painting with acrylic paint. Instructions cover from surface preparation, materials and specific instructions on color, light, texture, transparency/impasto and composition. Students will paint form a 3D model or photograph.

Anime Drawing-Female

Whether you are a beginner, or have some experience with illustration, these two consecutive weeks camps will serve as a comprehensive guide to illustrating in Josei, shoujo, and Chibi anime styles   and techniques used by professional in the industry. Topics covered: Drawing characters: Body Proportion for Each style, head proportion and different views, Facial features and Expressions, Hair and Hairstyles, Clothes and Accessories. 

Portfolio Development:  Observational /Advanced  (Session 1- week1)

This course is part of the Summer Portfolio Intensive Program. The first 3 week session  focuses on drawing skills as they relate to composition, proportion, modeling, value relationships, and stylization. Students will develop their representational drawing skills using a variety of drawing media as they create portfolio quality pieces. - 

Week 2  June 28-July 2

Package Design Portfolio Development Opportunity! 

This course focuses on the design and production process of Brand identity elements. This course utilizes a systematic approach to comprehensive  identity from concept development through design and production. Students will create various components including logos, signage, fleet graphics, stationery and  packages.

Portfolio Development:  Observational /Advanced  (Session I -week2)

This course is part of the Summer portfolio Intensive Program. 

Week 3  July 5- 9

Figure Drawing  Portfolio Development Opportunity! 

This course will help students understand important concepts of human Anatomy, Gestures, and movement of Male and Female figures.  The course Covers study of major muscles and the techniques on how to draw human figure, tilting, leaning, twisting, and foreshortening of the body.  The course provides study and application of the impact of specific elements of light on form using values: highlights, halftones, core shadows and more to make objects feel 3 dimensional.

 

Painting: Impressionism

The impressionists captured the fleeting effects of natural light to produce vivid and colors that sing.  This week is an introductory studio lecture and painting demonstration covers the impressionists’ methods, materials, brushwork, and use of color. Students are provided with a model/ photograph to replicate using their own selection of colors. 

Portfolio Development:  Observational /Advanced  (Session I- week3)

This course is part of the Summer portfolio Intensive Program. the first focuses on composition, proportion, value relationships, edge relationships, modeling, materials, and stylization Students will develop their representational drawing skills using a variety of drawing media.

Week 4  July 12 - 16

Dynamic Figure Drawing  Portfolio Development Opportunity! 

This figure drawing course will help students understand important concepts of human Anatomy, Gestures, and movement of Female figures.  The course covers study of major muscles and the techniques on how to draw human figure, leaning, twisting, and foreshortened. 

Perspective Drawing  Portfolio Development Opportunity! 

This is a basic, introductory course in linear perspective drawing. Students enrolled in this class will learn the most fundamental, basic rules, concepts, and principles in perspective. Students learn to draw environments and objects in perspective for comics, the basics of atmospheric Isometric perspective drawing for games and illustration. 

Portfolio Development: Composition& Conceptual Design Session II-week1

This course is part of the Summer portfolio Intensive Program.This session concentrates on fundamental visual principles integral to all fields of design and fine arts. Conceptual design represents one’s ability to cultivate an idea that leads to the development of a new product or improves the efficiency of a process. Visual development artist, design ads, sets, environments, characters, clothing, props, furniture, lighting, and just about anything. 

Week 5  July 19- 23

Fantasy Creature Design One of our most popular Summer Camps

Drawing with Ink and Pen Portfolio Development Opportunity! 

This is a comprehensive drawing course designed to lay a foundation for students to a work towards producing professional quality pen and ink drawings. The course helps students to learn various techniques to create the illusion of texture and  space, apply the concept of cross contour lines to shading using hatching, cross hatching, ink wash  and mixed effects to create a looser or more complex image.

Comic Book Drawing

Discover the Magic of Storytelling in Comic Book. Fun for All Ages: 

The course treats the graphic novel as an open medium capable of expressing any genre of your interest and help you learn to create your own comic book series. Comic book course cover everything from the basics, to action sequences, Panel descriptions, illustration, transitions, Speech bubbles, and Story Mapping.

 

Drawing Nature.  Portfolio Development Opportunity! 

The course teaches students to see and draw nature like an illustrator. Build observational and visual interpretation skills from nature and science. Improve essential skills and learn techniques that form the base for creating accurate drawings of  animals, insects and reptiles.

Week 7  Aug 2- 6

Product Design     Portfolio Development Opportunity! 

The week’s focus is on effectively generating and developing new ideas through a defined process for commercialization. The program aims at providing students with the fundamental knowledge of designing and creating a new product as well as the importance of research, and marketing in the manufacturing process of products.  Students generate idea for a product, create illustrations of their product, create a prototype, and assess marketing strategies for the production and distribution of their product

 

Drawing Challenge

Each day of this class will focus on learning ways to improve your drawing skills with specific challenges. From learning to draw very realistic subjects to tips on rendering hard to draw things like textures, you will be amazed at how simple techniques give incredible results.

Week 8  Aug 9-13

Painting : Watercolor 

This step-by-step watercolor painting course. Beginner-friendly class, you'll gain the tools you need to turn the inspiration you find outside into vibrant watercolor paintings. 

 Drawing Architecture Portfolio Development Opportunity! 

 Students enrolled in this class will learn the fundamental  rules, concepts, and principles of linear perspective. They will learn about various architectural styles and details and how to draw them.

Week 9  Aug 16-20

 

Design: Graphic Design /Brand Design

The course is designed to introduce students to concepts and skills essential to good design practice and help encourage self-expression and awareness. This course is a foundation in the fundamentals of pictorial design. It will introduce the concept of the picture plane, figure/ground relationships, scale and proportional transformation, patterning, composition, value, color, methods for conveying time, and spatial illusion.

Creating an Artist Journal

An art journal can be a very freeing way to express your creativity, work through thoughts and ideas, and experiment with new creative techniques. Learning how to create an art journal can give you a place to really explore your creativity! We will be using mixed media along with  various techniques and writing prompts to create personal artist journals.

Week 10  Aug 23-27

Relief Printmaking 

This course is an introduction to fundamental techniques 

for relief printing. Students will cover design considerations and learn carving skills with linoleum. Students will learn inking and printing techniques and will be able to produce a small single color edition of prints.
