Foundation Drawing
Wed. 4:30-6:30 Level I ( teen)

Students learn the techniques and methods used to create the illusion of the three dimensional world on a two dimensional surface. Emphasis is on line, value, shape and use of classic measuring techniques

Composition with
Color,Light & Acrylic Painting
This semester long class provides a comprehensive foundation in the fundamental interactions of color and how we perceive them. Students learn how compositional elements impact understanding and expressions important to visual communication. Color theory, light and their role in visual communication in design, drawing and painting will be covered.

Conceptual Drawing & Concept Development
This semester long course is designed to help students to extend their drawing skills in creating works of art that are stylistic and expressive. The course will explore experimental drawing and unconventional materials including colored pencil, drawing ink, or any combination of the mediums. The course introduces students to color theory and its use in creating collages. Previous experience with portrait and figure drawing highly recommended.

Our programs provide artistic and life enhancing skills to students of all skill levels. Through one-to-one mentoring, in small class settings, we provide opportunities for each student to use their unique abilities. Attention is given not only to cultivating skills for creative expression but also for those used for enhanced, communication, emotional, and interpersonal relationship development and leadership building.

Beginning /Intermediate
Foundation Drawing

This 8 week class is designed to build students' confidence with drawing what they see. Students learn fundamental skills using various drawing tools, accurate measuring, placement and shading. Students with no or some drawing skills will be comfortable in this class. Students with intermediate level skills will be challenged with new ways to refine the skills they have been using. Inspired by Nature:
Design

Looking at the world we live in and finding a way to integrate it into a design requires seeing nature from a fresh perspective. In this class we will explore approaches to design using natural objects. Students will use pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, colored pencil. and gouache for their projects. Materials are included in the class fee.

COMIC CHARACTER DRAWING
2-Hour weekly sessions

This course is a 5 week class that will add to your understanding of character design and drawing. Recommended for students who have completed our Comic Foundations class or students with good drawing skills and general understanding of the figure.
